THE FOURTH QUARTER REPORT FROM MAYUGE CHRISTIAN EDUCATION CENTER
P.O BOX 26745 KAMPALA
Introduction
We extend our sincere gratitude and greetings to all our partners, donors, friends and well-wishers in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We wish to congratulate you upon finishing the year 2024 and to inform you that the staff, board of governors and all key stakeholders of Mayuge Christian Education Centre are playing their respective roles towards the smooth running of all projects at the center.
Below is the project status report for the period running from 1st October – 31st December 2024.
Background
This report highlights MCEC activities implemented within the fourth quarter of 2024, supporting adults and children at MCEC and in the local community.
Ministry
The project is committed to ensuring that bible study sessions for men, women and children are held every Friday and Saturday from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. These sessions are open to all interested members of the community regardless of religion.

Education
Adult education was introduced at the center earlier this year in February and it has proved to be a success. The classes run from Monday to Thursday during school holidays from 3:00pm – 5:00pm, and are held every Tuesday and Thursday once schools re-open. The main aim of these classes is to enable the participants to have an ability to read, write, and solve simple math problems.

Ever since MCEC partnered with Baitambogwe Primary School to provide scholastic materials and teaching assistants in primary one and two, the performance of the pupils has greatly improved and their ability to read and interpret the English language has also improved.

Vocational/Technical Skills
Mechanics and Tailoring
The second motorcycle mechanics class and the third tailoring class started on the 1st of October with a total of nine boys and 15 girls, respectively. Orientation meetings were held at the center in the presence of the parents and tutors of the students before officially sending them to their respective classes.

Agriculture
Poultry
The newly obtained batch of 250 chicks is being taken care of well and is healthy. Vaccinations are done on time and the birds are given appropriate feeds. We expect to start picking eggs early next year from the batch. Funds obtained from the sales will be re-invested in the project.

Cattle
The farm was visited by a vet who carried out a pregnancy test on the two cows, David and Patience, and it was confirmed that Patience was pregnant. We hope to receive a calf very soon. An increase in both milk production and sales will be re- invested in the project.
Garden
In an effort to curb the adverse effects of the dry season in the garden, MCEC managed to get the long-awaited irrigation system installed by the contractors from the district. With this system in place, bananas will be harvested from the garden throughout the year which will increase income.

Although all these developments are ongoing, sales are still being made and efforts have been made to see that the crops grow well.

Hygiene and Health
WASH Program
In this quarter, the pupils in the three schools that partnered with MCEC (Baitambogwe primary school, Bugodi primary and Faith of Victory) have been sensitized about Mpox following an outbreak of the disease in the country. In addition, other topics like oral health and worm infection were covered.

Clean Water Provision
MCEC is looking forward to providing clean water to communities in need of it. With this goal in mind, MCEC together with its partners provided a borehole to Bubambwe Subcounty that is accessible by all community members without discrimination.

Community Visits
Outreach
In this quarter, MCEC focused more on expanding its boundaries and services to other sub-counties in need of help in different sectors. For this reason, Bubambwe and Nabalongo Sub-counties were singled out and inception meetings scheduled with community residents.
In addition, MCEC arranged an inception meeting at the district to inform the officials about MCEC’s intentions are for the people in the district and its new venture in clean water provision to needy communities.

Donations
MCEC, with the help of its partners, managed to donate funds to the Bubambwe village community to cover all the expenses of the drilling of the borehole. Maternity dresses were also given to the needy pregnant teenagers at Baitambogwe Health Center III.

Celebrations
Through MCEC’s new campaign of “More Jesus, More WASH”, a total number of 44 people were baptized on the 21st day of December, the same day that the end-of-year party was held at the Center. The new converts joined the rest of the community members at MCEC to celebrate their conversion and the end of the year.

Conclusion
We are so grateful to the Almighty for the gift of life, the support from our partners and donors, and the board that has stood with MCEC throughout the quarter. We promise to keep working even harder in the year 2025.
We hope to double our efforts in the year 2025 and see that people in Mayuge receive Christ as their personal Lord and savior, get access to clean and safe water, have good hygiene and sanitation, teach the young and the adults, and construct pit latrines in the community. Not forgetting the healthy and education departments, but all in all, allowing our God to lead and strengthen us.
Yours faithfully,
Godfrey Nkutu
Director Mayuge Christian Education Centre
